KC Off Road Lights

KC offers a wide array of lights for your truck or 4x4.  We are just going to briefly explore a few of those today.

Rally

This is a great design because these are compact lights that can be mounted virtually anywhere on your 4x4, truck or even SUV.  They have a steel housing and are finished with a black powder coat.  They use a halogen bulb; 55w.

Pro-Sport HID

These are interesting because they use a 35w HID bulb.  They also have two beam patterns.   One is pencil for lighting far away, or spread for close up.  They come with the wiring harness and it is the plug and play version.

KC Pod

These are the lights used by off-road racing teams.  But, you can use them too!  They are super light because the housing is made from carbon fiber.  They use a 75w HID bulb which is super bright and the lenses are very difficult to break because they are a very hard, coated Lexan material.

LZR LED

These are the most technologically advanced of all KC’s lights.  They are very high performance and can last up to 50,000 hours.  These are LED lights and as such are extremely bright.  They have been built to withstand such things as shock, vibration, water and even dust.

69 Series

These lights are rectangular instead of round.  They use 100w halogen bulbs.  You can choose between chrome or a black powder coat finish.  You also have a choice between a driving beam or a long range beam.

Utility LED

Utility LED lights offered by KC include a range of lights that are not just for off road use.  You can choose from clearance lights, reverse lights, brake, tail and even turn lights.  The LED bulbs offer a long life with up to 100,000 hours of use!  The lenses used are crafted from UV and impact resistant polycarbonate.

ATV/UTV

Do you enjoy riding your ATV at night?  You will a lot more with KC ATV/UTV lights.  You can choose from driving, long range or even flood beams in this category.  They all utilize 35w halogen bulbs.

LED Bones

These are super cool looking and ultra-affordable light bars for your truck or 4x4.  Basically it is an LED light bar that offers a great deal of light while furnishing your vehicle with a fantastic look.  There is a patent pending on this type of light.

KC Light Covers

Ok, so you have KC lights.  Great!  Now you can personalize your ride even more with any of the trendy light covers KC has to offer.

Plastic Covers

Plastic covers are made for a couple of reasons.  The first and most obvious reason is to cover your lights.  They also protect your lights when they are not in use.  It used to be that KC light covers all looked the same.  Now however, there are a multitude of styles and colors for you to choose from.

KC covers: You can get KC covers that say KC on them in black with the KC in white letters; alternatively you can get them in white with black KC letters.  Black lettering also comes on the yellow, and pink plastic covers.  If you want your KC white, you can choose from a red background or a black background.  If you have Daylighters and want your covers to say Daylighters, those are available in plastic too.  You can get that in white lettering on a black background or with black lettering on a yellow background.

Vinyl Covers

Some people prefer vinyl to plastic.  It is a more flexible material to work with and KC offers different styles for the vinyl versus the plastic covers.  They still have the basic KC style if you want that.  The basic KC covers are white lettering on black background and black lettering on a yellow background.  Some of the alternate styles though include the KC written in a different, more rugged looking font.  You can get those with red KC on a black background or white KC on a black background.  Another alternative is for the KC HID lights.  These covers are yellow with the KC in black and the HID in white.  Another fun style is the yellow Daylighter background which has the Daylighter in black curved like a smile with a pair of black sunglasses sitting over the smile.

Stone Guards

Stone guards go on your KC lights underneath the covers so that when you pull the covers off in order to use the lights, they are still protected from rocks slung up when you are off roading.  These also come in a variety of styles and colors.  You can get them solid in blue, red or amber.  You can also get them not solid and having the KC stamped in metal on them.

KC Light Bar

When you have auxiliary lights on your vehicle, then most of the time you will need a light bar.  KC knows this.  How?  KC was the first company to manufacture and market auxiliary and off road lights so if anyone in the world knows this, it is KC.  They have been making lights, bars and other accessories for over 30 years now with new innovations all the time.  The first KC attempt was to use airplane landing lights for an off road vehicle.  Of course that did not work, so they went back to the drawing board and came up with the Daylighter series, which even today are some of the most popular off road lights on the market.

Along with making the lights, KC manufactures the light bars they go on.  With KC light bars, you can ensure your lights have the best mount available.

Universal

The Universal mount is just what it sounds like and will mount to virtually any vehicle.  It has light tabs to accommodate 2 lights and has a black powder coat finish.  This does require drilling to mount.

Ford

When choosing a Ford specific bar, make sure you pick the one that is made for your specific model and year.  These are bolt on models that require no drilling.  These offer an added benefit over universal models because they retain the factory tow hooks already on your truck.  They also accommodate up to 4 lights.

Dodge

Dodge bars, like the Ford bars come for all Dodge trucks, but again are model and year specific.  You can get them with either two or four light tabs.  They are finished with a black powder coat.

GM

GM bars can be purchased that have the capacity to mount up to 9 lights.  They are also the bolt on models with no drilling necessary and as well, they allow you to retain your tow hooks that were factory installed.

Jeep

Light bars for Jeeps are always fun.  They add flair to your ride that it didn’t have before.  All KC Jeep light bars are made specifically for Jeeps, retaining all factory tow hooks and requiring no drilling.  Depending on the bar you choose, you can mount anywhere from 2-9 lights on your Jeep.
You can also get a receiver hitch for any of the above named vehicles.  These work with KC lights and have the same KC durability as all KC products.

KC Fog Lights

About

KC has been in business since 1970.  During that time they have become and remained the top of their field.  KC lights are used worldwide and the name that comes to mind first in terms of off road or auxiliary lighting for vehicles.  They are innovative and were actually the first company to even produce lighting specifically for off road vehicles.  They are used today both in privately owned vehicles as well as on some of the most famous off road racing vehicles because of their endurance and durability.  They are innovative and will remain a household name for years to come.

Fog Lights

Fog lights for use on vehicles can be mounted on both the front and the rear of whatever kind of vehicle they are mounted on.  They are generally just in the front though.  It is generally recommended to use fog lights in conjunction with your standard headlight for increased visibility in the fog and/or rain.  What makes fog lights different from your standard head light is that they generally have a slight hint of color to them that your head lights do not have.  This increases the functionality of the light in inclement weather enabling you to have a more clear visibility.  They are generally aimed lower as well in order to directly light the area immediately in front of the vehicle.

SlimLite

SlimLites differ from other styles in both their size and their profile.  They are 6” in diameter and have a steel housing.  They also feature a flat profile in order to facilitate their being mounted in places that most other fog lights will not fit in.  You can choose these lights to have either a chrome or a black powder coat finish.  They also all feature a stone guard.

Apollo

Apollo lights also have a flat profile.  However, they come in either a 6” or an 8” diameter.  They use a 55w bulb that is halogen.  They are equipped with polished reflectors to increase the amount of shine you get.  They also include axis mounts which enable more precise aiming.

Apollo Pro

The Apollo Pro Series is basically the same as the Apollo but with just a few differences, or upgrades depending on which way you look at it.  They are fitted with a Polymax housing.  They may or may not come with the wiring harnesses depending on which style you choose.

KC Daylighters

About KC HiLites

KC HiLites was started in 1970 in the garage of Pete Brown.  Interestingly enough, when he wanted to install some auxiliary lights on his off road vehicle, he tried the landing lights off of airplanes first.  Back in that time, auxiliary and off road lights were not available.  Needless to say, that did not work out so well for him.  So, he made some modifications and created his own.  He made a few sets (wiring included) for some friends and that saw the birth of a new era.  Since then, KC has always been the front runner in off road and auxiliary lights.

Daylighters

Daylighters were the first lights manufactured by KC for wholesale to the public.  They have remained popular with off road vehicles for over thirty years now and can be seen in use on the vehicles of some famous off road race teams.  They are very important to the race teams because these races are sometimes carried out after dark and the only way the racers can see ahead of them while going at speeds of up to 125 mph is by the auxiliary lights.  This makes the lights performance and endurance incredibly important.  That being said, it is very telling that KC Daylighters are the lights most used by these racers.

Long Range

Long range lights come in varying sizes and two per package.  They are shock mounted and are round with steel housings that have been chrome plated.  The lights use halogen bulbs.  Included in the packages are plastic covers as well as the wiring harnesses needed for installation.

Driving

Driving lights are mounted a bit differently than long range lights.  As such, the wiring included in the package with these lights is a relay style set that is pre-terminated.  These lights also use halogen bulbs and include plastic covers.

Fog

Fog lights by KC (Daylighter style), do not include the wiring systems in the packages.  They are also sold one at a time instead of in packages of 2.  They have a fog beam pattern and use halogen bulbs like the other Daylighters.

Flood

KC Daylighter flood lights are also sold singly.  They do include the plastic cover and they use halogen bulbs.  The difference here is in the beam pattern.  Flood lights have the flood beam pattern.
There are multiple accessories available for each of the Daylighter styles mentioned above.
